About this creation
Mapped in San Jose, Costa Rica, this GPS art retraces the country's silhouette under the name "Forma de Costa Rica - San Jose". The neighbourhood suits this kind of shape: the street layout gives the routing algorithm enough room to honour the outline without cutting corners.
The route covers 14.6 km, roughly 1h28 at an easy running pace, which makes it a longer run. Every turn follows real roads from OpenStreetMap: Draw My Loop's snapping algorithm keeps the outline on the actual street network.
The GPX file is available on the page. Import it into Strava, Garmin Connect or Komoot, follow it with a watch or phone, and the drawing reappears on the recorded activity. You can also fork this route from the map and adapt it to your own neighbourhood before exporting.
