About this creation
"Shape of Ireland - Dublin" is a GPS art route mapped in Dublin, Ireland that reproduces the country's shape on the capital's streets. The neighbourhood suits this kind of shape: the street layout gives the routing algorithm enough room to honour the outline without cutting corners.
The route covers 62.5 km, roughly 6h15 at an easy running pace, which makes it a longer run. Every turn follows real roads from OpenStreetMap: Draw My Loop's snapping algorithm keeps the outline on the actual street network.
Grab the GPX file, push it to a watch via Strava or Garmin Connect, and head out. Once the activity is recorded, the drawing shows up on the map automatically. You can also fork this route from the map and adapt it to your own neighbourhood before exporting.
